Tasked with coding a buggy to complete a racetrack course, the children had to problem-solve and persevere to refine their codes – otherwise the buggy would fail to stay inside the track, complete tight turns successfully and even avoid tricky obstacles. In addition to this, the buggy was timed, so it had to be coded to be both quick and accurate.

The children enjoyed the experience immensely and can be very proud of their achievements – although they did not win outright, their buggy received compliments from other teams and the judges, being one of the few that successfully completed the track within the time limit!

Since this was the first of a planned annual competition, we hope the children of Swavesey will have further opportunities to compete in the future!
