Round 2 'Bee' Netball League 2026

An outstanding performance by all.

On Tuesday 10th March, three Swavesey netball teams travelled to Northstowe Secondary School, to compete in Round 2 of the 'BEE' netball league. After a wonderful day of sunshine, the weather once again turned cold and windy for us all !

At the end of round one, held in October, the ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams finished in 1st place, in their respective groups. As there were an odd number of teams in the ‘B’ group this time, Swavesey were able to take their ‘C’ team along, to experience competitive play against other schools in the SCSSP!

All three teams had to play four matches in total, and they were very competitive, with lots of support from parents and carers from the sidelines, which we were grateful for!

Swavesey ‘A’, who were all Year 6s, played every game without conceding a goal! The results were: an 11-0 win against Willingham A, 7-0 win against Pendragon A, 4-0 win against Barhill A and finally an 8-0 win against Girton Glebe!

Swavesey ‘B,’ who had four Year 6s and five Year 5s in their team, played amazingly well, winning all their games, but their closest win was against Swavesey C, by one goal! The results were: 2-0 win against Willingham B, 7-1 win against Barhill B, 3-0 win against Pendragon B and a very close 3-2 win against Swavesey C.

Swavesey ‘C’, who were all Year 5s, only starting at the netball club in September 2025, were nervous but excited. All nine players did their very best, using the skills and rules they have been learning at their weekly club sessions! The results were: 4-0 win against Willingham B, 3-4 loss against Pendragon B, a 5-0 win against Barhill B and a very close 2-3 loss against Swavesey B.

Every single team player is a credit to the school. You have all dedicated time, on chilly winter mornings, attending the club at 8am every single week. I am so very proud of all that you achieved during this round, and I hope every player is proud of themselves too!

The ‘A’ SHIELD and ‘B’ finals will take place after Easter, to finish the season off!

Thank you to Miss Bennett and Mrs Gladwell for supporting me at the event.
