A Fond Farewell to Mrs Moody

Swavesey Primary said farewell to one of our most cherished members of the school community, Mrs Moody. Over many years, she played an important role in the life of the school, sharing her time, talents and enthusiasm with generations of children.

Mrs Moody's wonderful piano playing has been at the heart of countless singing assemblies, helping to create memories that our pupils will carry with them long after they leave Swavesey. Her kindness, dedication and commitment to the school have made a lasting impact on children, staff and families alike.

To thank Mrs Moody for all she has done and to celebrate her many contributions, the school came together for a special assembly filled with memories, music and heartfelt messages. Below, Prisha and Miriam share their account of this special occasion on behalf of the children.

"This year we came back to school with the devastating news that our beloved Mrs Moody was leaving Swavesey Primary. As she has accomplished so much and is a important part of our lives; it seemed only fitting that we gave her a satisfactory send-off. After a great deal of preparation, we held a special assembly in her honour. Luckily, she decided to grace us with her presence. The majority of us had a variety of unique memories of her- a couple of us got selected to share their recollections of her with the entire school and Mrs Moody herself. Soon after that, Mrs Sprawson (who was running the assembly) gifted her some random but thoughtful luxuries of which were: musical spoons, a stone frog to remember us by, a birdbath on which to put her frog, a box of multi-coloured ribbons, a bouquet of flowers and a voucher for afternoon tea for two. We also had 2 songs to sing: thank you for the music and a special rendition of the Leavers song specially altered just for her. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Moody and all you’ve done will never be forgotten by us. We will miss you!❤️"
