Message from the Headteacher
As we reach the end of our first half term, I would like to take a moment to say how incredibly proud we are of all our children. They have worked hard, embraced new challenges and made a fantastic start to the school year. It has been wonderful to see so many achievements already, both in and out of the classroom, and the children thoroughly deserve a well-earned break.
Today, we held our first Leap into Learning Award Assembly of the year. Teachers were tasked with selecting two children from each class who have consistently demonstrated our school value of Respect throughout the half term. It was inspiring to hear the many examples of kindness, consideration and positive behaviour across the school. Teachers certainly had a difficult job choosing just two children from each class! After half term, our focus will shift to our next value, Being Responsible Learners, and we look forward to celebrating this in the weeks ahead.
Our Break the Rules Day has also been a huge success, with lots of crazy hairstyles, amazing outfits and plenty of smiles around school! A huge thank you to our PTA for organising such a fun event and helping to raise valuable funds for the school.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 2nd November. Until then, I hope all of our children and families have a happy, relaxing and safe half term break.

Behaviour Policy Parental Consultation
Thank you to all the parents and carers who have taken the time to share their feedback on our proposed Behaviour Policy. We have been delighted by the response so far, which has been overwhelmingly positive. Alongside this, families have provided a number of thoughtful suggestions and questions, which have been invaluable as we refine the policy ahead of implementation.
A reminder that today is the final day of the consultation period. If you have not yet shared your views and would like to do so, please complete the consultation form by the end of today:
Positive Behaviour Policy Consultation – Fill out form
We are grateful for the support and engagement shown by our school community and hope to begin trialling the policy with children after half term before moving to full implementation.
Thank you once again for your continued support.

School Meals Ordering System
Following a recent communication to parents and carers, we would like to remind families that our new school meals ordering system will go live after half term, with meal bookings available from 2nd November onwards. Any meal orders previously made beyond this date have been removed and will need to be rebooked through the new system.
When logging into SCOPay, parents and carers will be asked to confirm their child's dietary requirements and allergy information. Even if your child has no dietary requirements and is listed as "None", this information will still need to be confirmed before meal orders can be placed.
Please remember that school meals will now need to be ordered in advance, as children will no longer select their meals during classroom registration each morning. While there is currently no ordering cut-off time in place, this will be introduced in the future to support food ordering and reduce waste. The new menu will be sent home via email as soon as we have this.
If you experience any difficulties accessing the new system or believe any information is incorrect, please contact the school office. To help ensure a smooth start when we return after half term, we would be grateful if families could log in, confirm dietary information and book meals as soon as possible.
Thank you for your support.

Photographs on Our Website and Social Media
You may have noticed that many of the photographs we share on our website and online platforms now either show children from behind or have identifying features obscured.
This is not a change we have made lightly. As a school, we have recently received safeguarding advice highlighting the rapidly developing capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) and other online technologies. While we value celebrating our pupils' achievements and sharing the wonderful experiences they have at school, we also have a responsibility to consider emerging risks and put children's safety first.
As a precautionary measure, we have therefore decided that we will only publish photographs where we are confident that a child's identity is appropriately protected. This may include photographs taken from behind, at a distance, or with identifying features covered.
We completely understand that some families may feel this is a shame. We share that sentiment, as we know how much parents enjoy seeing and celebrating their children's involvement in school life. However, after careful consideration, we believe that taking a cautious approach is the right decision in the current digital landscape.
As technology continues to evolve, some families may wish to reconsider permissions they have previously given, while others may remain comfortable with their existing choices, so please do let school know if you would like to amend these.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care.

Supporting Saphia's Christmas Food Bank Fundraiser
We are incredibly proud of Saphia, who is once again raising money for local food banks this Christmas. What began when she was just five years old has become an annual tradition, driven by her kindness, compassion and desire to help families who may be struggling during the festive season.
Over the past five years, Saphia has taken on a range of fundraising challenges and has raised an incredible £2,997 for local food banks. This year, she is aiming to raise £852 and is continuing her mission to make a positive difference for families in our community.
Saphia's story is a wonderful example of our school values in action, and we would love to help support her efforts. If you are able to donate, or simply share her fundraising page with others, every contribution will be greatly appreciated.
Fundraising Page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/saphias-foodbank-mission?utm_medium=CF&utm_source=CL
Well done, Saphia, for showing such generosity and commitment to helping others. We wish you every success with this year's fundraising challenge! ❤️🎄

Message from the Local Football Clubs:
Hi Everyone. The green is having work done with the grant money secured from the football clubs.
This is to try and get football back on the green for all teams. Youth and Adult teams. This is also so that the green is safer for kids and animals in general.
We’re all currently spending money we don’t have playing at the college and need to get back on the green asap. We could do with some rain though.
I know it’s almost impossible, but please be aware that there’s seeded areas with fresh soil spread and rolled in.
And we would all ask if your children are playing in it, or your dogs are digging it up. Please try and prevent that. We don’t really want to have to cordon it all off again.
I know it’s hard to monitor, but we’d really appreciate everyone being aware of this.
Many thanks!! From all the football clubs.
