We have ended the term with a wonderful day of celebrations for the children, the Pantomime 'Rick Whittington' got all the children singing and dancing and was great fun, see more in the blog below. This afternoon, the children have had a visit from Santa and asked him some interesting questions. Each child has received a gift of a book kindly purchased and wrapped by the PTA.

I'd like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all the children and parents for being so supportive and making Mr Quinlan and myself feel so welcome in our first term.

On behalf of all the staff at Swavesey Primary, we wish you all a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing all the children back in the New Year on Tuesday 6th January.

Mrs Ogilvie

Chickens

In the new year, Year 3 children will be helping with the chickens.

We rely on a group of dedicated helpers to check in on the chickens during weekends and holidays, if you think you could help, (there is no set commitment, people volunteer for days they can do) then please contact the school office.

Gardening Club

Gardening club will take a pause in Spring 1 whilst the plants are resting! It will resume in Spring 2.

If you have any spare bulbs/plants/hand tools (child or adult size) you are able to donate for the club to use, please bring them to the office.  Thank you.

School Uniform and Lost Property

Once again we have ended the term with a mountain of lost property including coats, we will keep these for the first week back after the Christmas holiday but after this they will be recycled as we do not have room to store it all.

Please make sure that you label every item of your child's school uniform.  If it is named, it will be returned to its owner!

Welcome to our ‘online safety’ advice, guidance and support page, ‘Wake Up Wednesday (WUW) - what parents / carers need to know’. Each week we will post articles of interest to our newsletter that should help you and your child.

Children regularly use different websites and apps from their parents, and it can be hard to keep up in this ever-changing digital world. These weekly updates from the National College aim to cover important topics such as online safety, mental health, wellbeing, and climate change.

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
