Pre-school, reception and Year 1 and 2 are in full swing of their rehearsals for their Christmas plays, details for tickets will be sent next week.
In assembly we looked at 'Parliament Week' and how this relates to the children. School council have been busy voting on their next project - see below in their blog for more details.
Santa Run - see details below, every child will take part, orders for medals need to be in by Friday 5th.
I have talked to the children about safety around the pond outside of school, with it recently being cleared, it seems more accessible. Please reiterate to your children that they should not be going near to the edge or throwing things into the pond.
Can I encourage anyone who is able to, to use the back gate to enter the school building in the mornings where there is more space to wait safely, the majority of classes having easy access from the back playground. We are looking into the possibility of additional bike storage at the back as this has been raised as reason for more people using the front entrance.
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Ogilvie

Art Competition
Exciting News!
We are creating art for not 1,not 2, but 3 possible competitions... The theme for all of them is 'Nature'.
Art work must be A4 or smaller. It can be of any medium - pencil, painting, collage...
The art work can be 3D but must be able to be displayed on a wall.
Art work is to be done at home and brought to Mrs Cowburn by Monday 8th December.
Selections of art to go to each competition will then be made by Mrs Cowburn with some help from school council and the teachers.
We will let you know if your work is going forward as there will be some forms to complete at that time.
Enjoy creating!

School Uniform and Lost Property
The school uniform dress code is as follows:
- Black or grey trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafores
- White or red polo shirt (with or without school logo)
- Red cardigan, or sweatshirt (with or without school logo)
- Red and white summer dress (we request no play suits in EYFS, please)
- Plain white, grey or black socks or tights
- Sensible black shoes (sandals may be worn in the summer but these need to be practical for indoor and outdoor learning and play)
- A sun hat for hot days and a waterproof coat for cold/wet days which are suitable/appropriate for school and weather conditions.
Children should not be coming to school in any other items of clothing.
Please make sure that you label every item of your child's school uniform. Every week we have multiple 'lost' items that we cannot return as they are unnamed. If it is named, it will be returned to its owner!
We have a new ottoman in the front entrance for storing unnamed items of lost property. This will be cleared out regularly as we do not have space to store huge amounts of lost property.
See below for second-hand uniform, if you need anything.

Pupil Premium
At our parent's information sessions, we also shared information about how you can sign up to receive support through Pupil Premium funding for your child.
Pupil Premium is extra funding given to schools to help children who may face barriers to learning—such as those from low-income families, in care or adopted, or with parents in the armed forces.
If you receive benefits like Income Support or income-based JSA/ESA, your child may qualify. Even if your child gets Universal Free School Meals (Reception–Year 2), you must still apply to unlock Pupil Premium funding.

Welcome to our ‘online safety’ advice, guidance and support page, ‘Wake Up Wednesday (WUW) - what parents / carers need to know’. Each week we will post articles of interest to our newsletter that should help you and your child.
Children regularly use different websites and apps from their parents, and it can be hard to keep up in this ever-changing digital world. These weekly updates from the National College aim to cover important topics such as online safety, mental health, wellbeing, and climate change.

Could you foster?
At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
