We’ve had a busy and exciting week at Swavesey Primary School, filled with celebrations, events, and excellent learning across the school.
This week, we marked our Harvest Festival with a visit from Jimmy’s Shelter. Thank you for all your generous donations, which were gratefully received by Jimmy’s. It was heartwarming to see the children contribute so kindly to their community and take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are.
We also celebrated National Poetry Day by exploring a wide range of poems and poets in class. Whether it was classic poetry or nonsense verses designed to make us laugh, the children thoroughly enjoyed shining a spotlight on poetry and expressing themselves creatively.
Some of our Year 4 pupils represented the school brilliantly at a special sporting event. Please do check out the full report and photos in the gallery on our school website. We are incredibly proud of them all—they were excellent role models for Swavesey Primary.
Another important event this week was the first meeting of our newly appointed School Council. The children have written their own message for the website to share with you. We are very proud of everyone who put themselves forward for this important role, and we’re confident that our new council members will do a fantastic job.
Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be focusing on supporting our own and others’ mental health as part of World Mental Health Day on 10th October. See below for more information on how we’re supporting this cause and opening up conversations about mental health with our children.
