Fundraising for 'Pets As Therapy' (PAT) and Swavesey Primary School - next week the children will be completing their run/walk challenge to raise money for Pets As Therapy (the charity that Bear, our therapy dog comes from) as well as for the school to fund some music therapy sessions.

Bear and his handler, Michelle, will join some of the children in their sessions.

We obviously appreciate as many donations/sponsorships as you are able to raise, but those who raise £5+, will receive a 'pawsome' medal for their fundraising efforts.

To make your payment/donation:

Log in to your child's SCOpay account (where you pay for school meals, trips etc.) - see picture below.

Go to products

Add in the amount you are paying

As the office are able to run a report of who has donated, it is no longer a requirement to return the sponsor forms to Miss McAuley in order to receive the medal for those who have raised over £5. You are very welcome to still return them as well as pay online, but it is not essential. Monies should be online donations only please.

Many thanks for all your anticipated efforts in supporting the school with this fundraising efforts and also to Mrs Turian for kindly helping run this event.

Summer Term Updates

PE Kit: As seems to often happen in the summer term, PE kits have begun to deviate from our uniform and dress code.  Below is the section from our website to provide a reminder of our PE kit expectations, which support team activities, sun safety and safety within certain PE activities.

Our PE Kit - children come to school in their PE kit on PE days -please ensure it is appropriate for the weather conditions.

  • Black, grey or navy shorts
  • Plain short-sleeved T-Shirt in your child's house colour (with or without school logo) - red, blue, purple, yellow or green
  • Black, grey or navy jogging bottoms/leggings
  • Plain jumper or hooded top which is appropriate for PE sessions, i.e. does not restrict movement and provides warmth for outdoor PE
  • Trainers for outdoor PE with good grip
  • Plain sports socks

Please remember that children should not wear jewellery to school except small stud earrings, but these must be removed for PE sessions to ensure safety rules are followed.

We have had an increasing number of requests to find lost jewellery items which should not have been in school - please refer to the statement above which is set out in every newsletter and admin update.

Safeguarding: As part of our safeguarding protocols children should not have mobile phones in school, nor should they wear smart watches which can connect to the Internet.  Please ensure these are not brought to school.  If they are found in school, we will secure them in the office for return at the end of the day to a parent/carer, and we will contact you to discuss.

For Year 5/6s who walk home please refer to a separate email which has been sent out to parents and carers.

Medical needs updates and injuries: Please ensure that any medical changes for your child are notified to school so we can support them in staying safe.  Where children have sustained an injury especially which impacts their physical movement, e.g. sprains or fractures, please inform us on their return to school so we can send you a short form to complete to aid with safety systems for them in school.

Changes in personal details: Please update us with details for changes to phone numbers, addresses etc. so that we can ensure smooth communication.

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
