Fundraising for 'Pets As Therapy' (PAT) and Swavesey Primary School

Each year we have a running/walking event to raise money for a specific area of our school provision.  This year we are going to be undertaking a walking/running challenge to raise money for Pets As Therapy (the charity that Bear, our therapy dog comes from) as well as for the school to fund some music therapy sessions.

Our challenge will be to walk/run at least 100km collectively around our school field during the week commencing 19th May 2025. We will do it as a relay walk and pass the ‘baton’ from one class to the next. Bear and Michelle will join us for some of these sessions to support us in our fundraising!

As we are raising funds for two groups, we are asking children to gain sponsorship, with all those who raise funds of £5 or more receiving a special 'pawsome' medal for their fundraising efforts. Please click here for the sponsor form which contains more details on collecting and donating.

If you would like a paper copy of the sponsor form sent home for your child, please complete a very short request form by clicking here.

We will be talking to the children about this in our assembly on Tuesday (6th May).

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
