Updates from Mrs Norden

I cannot believe that the first week of term is already over - time seems to be going so quickly.  As I consider all that is to come this half-term, as well as across the whole of the summer term, I have no doubt I will feel this way each week.

The month of May will bring both the KS1 and KS2 statutory assessment periods, which will be interspersed by the King's Coronation celebrations, our new intake (2023/24) information meeting, a variety of sporting activities and preparation for events in June and July.

The King's coronation is in just two weeks time, and we have now finalised our own activities, which will take place in the afternoon of 5th May, to share in the occasion.

We hope you will be able to join us for our activities and invite you to join us for a picnic on the school field from 12.15pm, followed by some team games/activities.  Our invitation includes preschool too, as they will also join the picnic, and a couple of games, before returning to their afternoon session in EY&P.  If your child only attends the morning session in preschool, please stay and join us.

To support our organisation for the afternoon please complete the short form which can be accessed by clicking here.

On the day, our primary children can come to school in non-uniform, dressed in clothes themed on their house colour which are suitable for outside eating and games.  This will support organisation for our games.  Preschool children can come dressed in clothes which are red, white and blue themed.

Unfortunately, if the weather is inclement we will use the hall for the phases to take part in the planned games but we will not be able to host external adults due to alack of space.  If we have to cancel our picnic and outside plans we will make the decision on the morning of 5th and email you to let you know.

As always the rest of our newsletter contains a variety of information to support your organisation.  Please always check out the links as these often access new information even under regular headings, as well as regular signposted resources.

Happy Birthday!

Our chickens were 1 year old last week, and we cannot believe how much they have grown and how much joy they have brought us.

Despite all the weather changes, avian flu regimes and Iris being  unwell last term they are all happy and thriving.

Mrs Norden, and 'the girls', are grateful to the volunteers who look after them during the holiday periods and to the children who help look after them during term time.

If you would like a pack of our eggs this term, please complete the very short form accessed here.  We give out the eggs on school days when the chickens lay using the order people have sign up in.  We ask for a donation of £1 per pack which will go towards feed, bedding etc.

Iris, Heather, Penny, Dotty, Emerald and April (and Mrs Norden) say thank you for your support.
