Updates from Mrs Norden

Unfortunately, Mr Browne did not visit us on Friday due to a commitment arising which he could not attend.  His visit has been rearranged for early March and I look forward to discussing such matters as unfunded cost increases for school budgets as well as showing him around the school.

Hopefully you saw the emails sent out on Friday for booking parent consultations and updated information on the teacher strikes, the first of which is this coming Wednesday (1st February).  If you missed the parent consultation letter please email the office as there was different information dependent on classes. If you missed the letter on the strikes you can access it here.

The last few weeks have seen changeable weather, with the cold spells causing the pond to the front of school, and its linked ditches, to freeze.  This in turn has brought some concern from the community having seen primary pupils (identified through their uniform) playing on the frozen water.  It is really important that children are supervised and the dangers of such play highlighted to them to ensure their safety.

Please read on for updated information, news from the children and details on school nd local events.                                                                                                                                                                                                        Anna-Claire Norden

NSPCC Number Day

Next Friday, on Friday 3rd February we are going to have a 'dress up as digits' non-uniform day as part of our NSPCC number day. This may be as simple as wearing a top with a number on or as extravagant as some you see in the pictures below. All just a bit of fun to promote maths and raise some money for the NSPCC. This year we are going to be having lots of mental maths games and challenges through the day as this has been a particular focus for us this year. If you are able, we will be collecting donations for the NSPCC, which class teachers will collect in the morning of the 3rd.
