Updates from Mrs Norden

It has been a quieter week with no external events, but there has still been lots of busy learning taking place across the school.

The weather continues to be changeable, but the early mornings are definitely colder and some days have been quite wet.  Please remind your children to bring their coats, and accessories, to help them stay warm and dry.  The Local Authority, and public health, have written to parents and carers this week about winter viruses and associated illnesses, highlighting symptoms and actions to take.  This letter can be accessed by clicking here and is really important to read.

We have also received a lovely letter from Jimmy's in Cambridge, thanking everyone for their kind donations through our harvest assembly collection.  It truly highlights the need and value our of community's support.  You can read this letter by clicking here.

The remainder of today's email focusses on information for forthcoming events and opportunities, plus a few reminders.  We hope you will be able to take part and/or join us.

Autumn Term Administrative and Information Updates

School Dinners - Please can you ensure that you pre-book, and choose, any school meals (hot dinners or school packed lunch) you wish your children to have. This is vital to support organisation including ordering and meal preparation. Even if children are in Reception, Year 1 and 2, where they are eligible for infant free school meals, the children's school dinner needs to be pre-booked.

Bonfire Night Special Lunch - please see the poster at the bottom of the newsletter and/or the school meal link.

New Intake 2023 Talk and Tour 2nd November - if you have a child starting school in September 2023 please come and join Mrs Norden for a tour of the school, to see our environment, organisation and ask questions. The talk and tour will be from 1.30pm until 2.30pm.  Please email the office (office@swavesey.cambs.sch.uk) to let us know you are going to join us, to support organisation as the school will be 'at work'.

PTA Events:

Please see below posters for the Great Swavesey Bake Off, which takes place on Monday (17th), and our Fireworks Night on Friday 4th November.

Don't forget to come and buy the Bake Off goodies at the end of the day on Monday.  These will be on sale in the back playground if the weather is fine, or the school hall if inclement.
