Updates from Mrs Norden

This week has seen our Heritage Project, which we started in 2019, finally come to an end leading to us receiving a Heritage Schools Award from Historic England.  This project began with our exploration of the 'Lost Words' by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris, during the academic year 2018/19, and finally came to fruition this week as our Year 5s took part in a virtual concert.   See the news article link below to find out more and hear the Year 5s sing our heritage song.

The NSPCC Number Day has crept up on us this year, and we have realised that it is next Friday.  We are going to take part in this fun day which raises funds for such a good cause as we did last year and hope you are able to support us in this. So we will have a non-uniform day next Friday (4th feb) and encourage number/maths themed attire for a donation of £1 to contribute to the NSPCC.  You can click ether to find out more about number day and the work funds raised supports.

Hopefully you will have received the letter detailing the parent consultations this morning, after my technical error yesterday, so please don't forget to book your appointment/s.  The MCaS booking system will go live at 4pm today.

Finally from me today, a clarification on our Covid safety measures.  Although national measures have changed due to the number of cases we have seen in the last two weeks, and the number of PCR results we are awaiting, we will be continuing all measures which have been in place since the start of term until half term.  We will then review our measures in light of local and national case numbers and Local Authority guidance.                                                                                                                                                               Anna-Claire Norden

Covid Update:

Our Covid page on the school website (accessible here) is updated with our current safety systems and any documentation published to us for understanding latest changes.

Vacancies:

We have vacancies for midday supervisors. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be the details for these can be found here.

We would be happy to hear from anyone who might be willing to consider a short term placement or even being able to offer cover during absences.

Admin Updates:

1. Lost Property - we have 2 unnamed coats - one black and one blue both for children aged 5 and 6.  Plus some unnamed gloves in the office.  We have not had any children identify them as theirs.  If you think your child is missing such items please come to the main office to look at them.

2. Emails to the office - please can we remind you to put your child's name and class in the subject of any email as not all admin staff (or those who may stand in on occasion) can identify this information from the senders name and so it can lead to us taking longer than necessary to resolve any issues or pass messages on.
