Updates from Mrs Norden

This week started with the wonderful Yr 3/4 performance 'From Cavemen to Celts' and we are very grateful to Mr Pickering, one of our parents, for his expertise in filming this for us for the Year 3/4 parents to share in the production. Please have a read of the article below to hear more.

The drier days have supported a reduction in mud overall, but the overnight frosts have led to our field and grass areas not being as firm and dry as we would like. This has led to cancellations of clubs for safety which I know has been disappointing, but we hope the conditions will improve very soon for us to be back on track with all planned activities.

As you will be aware, we will be hosting parent consultations in the week before half term.  Despite changes to wider national measures, as Covid numbers in Cambridgeshire, and the local area, are still high with an increase in positive cases in school this week these will be virtual through Teams, as they were in the autumn term. The appointment booking section on MCaS will go live on Friday 28th - all details will be explained within a letter emailed to you on Thursday 27th.

There have been many Covid safety measure changes since the start of term, and we are awaiting guidance from the LA, as a maintained school, for the changes which the government announced this week.  Please use the Covid section of our newsletters (below) and our Covid website page to keep updated with measures in place for school and the flow charts to support decision-making.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Anna-Claire Norden

Covid Update:

As you will be aware this last week has seen changes to test and trace protocols as well as announcements for changes due to come into effect on future dates.  We will work hard to keep our Covid page on the website updated (accessible here) with any documentation published to us for understanding these latest changes.

As a maintained school we are guided by the Local Authority who work very closely wit the local PHE group who consider local statistics and so sometimes our guidance is not always fully aligned wit government changes and, so please make sure you check both our newsletter updates and the website for the systems we have in place at any time.

PTA:

PTA Meeting Wednesday 26th January at 7pm via zoom - details below.

Meeting ID: 864 4507 0298
Passcode: 12345

Vacancies:

We have vacancies for midday supervisors. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be the details for these can be found here.

We would be happy to hear from anyone who might be willing to consider a short term placement or even being able to offer cover during absences.

Admin Updates:

1. Term Dates 2022 - 2023 - click here

2. Lost Property - we have 3 unnamed coats - one black and one blue both for children aged 5 and 6 and a blue one aged 10 to 11.  Plus some unnamed gloves in the office.  We have not had any children identify them as theirs.  If you think your child is missing such items please come to the main office to look at them.

3. Emails to the office - please can we remind you to put your child's name and class in the subject of any email as not all admin staff (or those who may stand in on occasion) can identify this information from the senders name and so it can lead to us taking longer than necessary to resolve any issues or pass messages on.
