Updates from Mrs Norden

Welcome back to our summer term, which is already shaping up to be a busy time for us all.  We have welcomed new staff to school in our Early Years teams, with Mrs Alison Marshall and Miss Tyler Bennett joining reception, and Claire Shephard EY and P.  Mrs Ione Kellam and Miss Chloe Bennett, whilst not new to school, will also be working, in addition to their normal roles, in Reception this term.

On Wednesday, a team of our Year 5s took part in a local heat of the LA Maths Challenge, facing questions the adult audience found tricky at times, coming fourth out of the fourteen teams competing.  Then on Thursday, our Yr6 Netball A team were runners up in the South Cambridgeshire and City final, which means they have qualified for the County finals just before half term. A huge well done to all those who took part.

Our Year 3/4s also received a reply from our MP, Ian Sollom, whom they wrote to last term. You can see details of this in the news article below.  We are really pleased he took the time to reply and consider the children's concerns about the local environment and hope he will take actions forward for positive changes.

There is a new lunch menu this term which can be accessed through the link below and there will be a special lunch on 15th May, with a booking deadline of 6th May.

A new date for your diary is for our class photographs, on 20th May. All children will need to attend in school uniform that day and not PE kit.  Also, don't forget to save 27th June in your diary for our PTA Summer Fair.

This term has many events and activities to come, so please keep checking the newsletters/admin updates and the website for information.

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
