Updates from Mrs Norden

Our last week has been full of Christmas excitement, including parties, Christmas lunch, a Pantomime (Snow White) and a visit from Father Christmas himself.  This brings to an end a very busy term of learning, activities and more, which have only been possible through the support, contributions and enthusiasm of many.

A huge thank you to our PTA for their continued support and fundraising, which supports so much, including today's Pantomime and Father Christmas' visit and gifts. We are so grateful as well to Father Christmas for giving up time again for us this year.

Thank you also to you, our families, for all your support across the term and especially for donating items to us from our Amazon wish list.  The staff are very grateful for the books and other items which make their way to their classes for the children to benefit from.

This term has been longer than many Autumn terms and has felt busier than normal due to our Ofsted inspection.  I would like to take a moment to thank the staff for all their continued hard work but especially for coming together, during the inspection juggling the demands of the normal teaching day with the extra expectations of deep dives and more.

I would also like to thank our governors for all their support of the school in all they do but for especially coming out in force during our Ofsted inspection to highlight the work they do.

Finally, we hope you have a wonderful festive period and that Christmas brings great joy for you all, as well as some rest before the start of the new year.

We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday 7th January.

                                                                                                                               Anna-Claire Norden

NHS Pharmacy First Service -  Information from the NHS

Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment?

Accessing the service may mean that we can help children feel better and get back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.

There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.

Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
