Updates from Mrs Norden

The news articles below explain the adventures and fun the children have been having in their learning over the last two weeks and I will leave the staff and children to share this through them.

I want to say a huge thank you to Mrs Sprawson for organising our annual book fair, which is a mammoth task, especially in co-ordinating everything.  The way the system works means we receive money back 'in books' from the book company based on the books sold.  This year this equated to £100 per class to purchase books for their class libraries - the children enjoyed being involved in choosing titles for their classes.

Our Reception classes are learning about people who help us and, as part of this, they will be visited on Monday (25th) by some police officers, who will also be bringing their police vehicle.  They are looking forward to other professionals supporting their work too.

As December draws ever closer, we know that the busy run through to Christmas is on its way.  Next week we will publish our helpful December reminder sheet for all our events and activities to support your planning at home, so please look out for this.

Our annual Christmas lunch will be on 18th December, and it is always such a lovely event having all the children eating with their phase group and staff, served by staff.  Lucy, our cook, has this year's menu ready, which you can find below as a poster.  In order that the catering staff can finalise their orders, meeting the deadlines set by the suppliers, please book your child's Christmas lunch on Scopay by Wednesday 4th December - you will need to book the lunch for that date. It will not say in Scopay its Christmas lunch.

The weather has turned cold, and we are still getting wet days too. Please can you remind your children to bring their coats and accessories such hats and gloves to keep them warm at playtimes.

                                                                                                                               Anna-Claire Norden

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
