Autumn Term Updates

Reminders for this week:

PTA Bake Off - tomorrow Monday 21st Oct.  Entries should be dropped off at the school entrance or children can take them into school and through to the school hall.  Please see the poster below for details.

School Photos - Tuesday and Wednesday (22nd/23rd) - children should attend both days in school uniform.  Preschool sibling photos will take place in the school library from 8.15am, please go round to the library outside door to access the building for these.

Parent/Carer Parent Consultations - Tuesday and Wednesday (22nd/23rd).  If you missed Friday's deadline to book an appointment, please email the school office.  Access for appointments will be through the main front door or the side access door to the KS2 corridor (by Owls classroom).  There will be signage in the front playground and in corridors to support you.  Please note there will be no access via the rear gate to support safeguarding systems as Kids club will still be open, and the hall will be in use for both school and external clubs across the duration of the two afternoon/evenings.

Future Events/Dates for the first few weeks after half term:

PTA Fireworks Night and Open classrooms Friday 8th November.  Further details will be published soon.

Anti-bullying week begins on the 11th November, and we will be asking children to wear odd socks as part of this on Tuesday 12th November. The theme this year is 'Choose Respect'.

Author visit and book signing opportunity Monday 11th November - Further details will be published soon.

Book Fair - our annual book fair will arrive in school a little earlier than originally planned this year, with sessions for the children to browse and families to come and buy books between 14th and 18th November.  Further details will be published soon.

Children in Need - we will be raising money for this worthwhile cause through a non-uniform day on Friday 15th November.  The children can come in clothes which should be suitable for outdoor play in the likely muddy, and possibly cold and/or wet conditions, as well as indoor learning.  We encourage spots and the colour yellow to tie in with Pudsey Bear, but this will not be a requirement.

Flu Vaccinations - Tuesday 19th November is our given date by the NHS for the children's annual flu vaccinations.  Further details will be published soon.

Could you foster?

At Nexus Fostering based in Lolworth, we’re looking for local people like you to become foster carers. By providing a loving and stable home environment, you can support the increasing number of children and young people in the local area who cannot live in their family homes. Not all children require long-term care. We also need foster carers for short-term placements, respite care, and to provide temporary homes to support young parents and their babies. So, if you have a spare room and are ready to change lives, please give us a call on 01223 903 503 or email Leanne on leannea@nexusfostering.co.uk.
