Updates from Mrs Norden

Our first week back seems to have whizzed by, with production preparations for Year 3/4 and various activities linked to new units of work filling the chatter around school.  Did you know that the ancient Mayan's revered snakes and used crushed rattle-snake as a healing medicine. Thank goodness for Alexander Fleming and penicillin, I wonder if any of the Year 1/2 children chose him as their person who changed the world?

Many children seem to be looking forward to this afternoon's discos and we are grateful to the PTA and staff for supporting, so the events could go ahead.

Year 3/4 will be performing their production from 'Cavemen to Celts' next week for their parents and carers.  At the end of each performance they will be holding a collection for the Cambridge Children’s Hospital charity, and we hope the audience will be able to support this.

After a few queries this week I would just like to remind you that the office is manned from 8.30am, except on Wednesdays which is from 8.45am, until 4pm. Please use our telephone answering system to leave a message, or email the office, as the phone will not be answered outside these hours or when staff are undertaking priority tasks during the school day, such as first aid, supporting unwell children or being on the phone already.  Our email system is set up to provide you with an automatic reply indicating we have received your email, and that it will be dealt with by the relevant member of staff as soon as possible, and within our communication policy deadlines. Should you need to update us on changes for pick-ups please do so as early as possible.
