Our Rights Respecting Giraffe

Riley, our Rights Respecting Giraffe, has left us for the high life in Cambridge.

Having decided to take part in the 'Cambridge Standing Tall' (2024) project, we received our blank giraffe in mid-September and Mrs Cowburn set about working with the children to create a companion for Dandelion, our mini-moo.  We want to thank the PTA for supporting us by providing the funds to join in with the project.

It was decided that the giraffe should represent the work we have been doing in becoming a rights respecting school and the children created designs linked to this theme to be transferred on our blank canvas.  You can click here to see photographs of the transformation, which is amazing.

Children also suggested names for our giraffe and we have chosen 'Riley' as his name.

Riley has now gone off to Cambridge and will be displayed from March across the city - when we know where we will be we will let our community know, hopefully you might be able to go and visit him and the other giraffes.  Riley will then return to us in June, to join Dandelion in our school grounds.

We must say a huge thank you Mrs Cowburn for all her hard work in supporting this project and enabling the children to paint their designs onto Riley making him the spectacular giraffe he is.  Also to the children for their creativity in creating such fabulous designs and their resilience in seeing the project through to fruition.
