Anti-Bullying Week 2025

Anti-bullying Week for the School website
This year our focus was the power for good to encourage our pupils 'to speak out, support others, and build a world where kindness wins.' Thank you to our parents and carers for supporting us and raising money for the Anti-bullying alliance.
We started with celebrating it by having odd socks on the Monday. Each class chose activities based on this to encourage all our pupils that it is everyone's role to help stop bullying. We asked pupils to complete work such as demonstrating how they use power for good to stop bullying. Below is some of the work to demonstrate the activities children did as well as some photos of our wonderful odd socks!

Here are what some of the children had to say about the week:
"We all learnt that in bullying there are 3 main roles - the bully, the victim and the bystander. We focused on the bystander. As a bystander, you shouldn't ignore the problem as that's almost saying to the bully, "Yeah, I'm fine with this." and who wants that?!? We learnt that rather than ignoring what is happening, you should think about doing what is right - eg telling an adult or asking the bully to stop. As a summary - if you ignore the bullying, it may get worse, so bystanders should act to help out." - Ines
"We had a brilliant Anti-Bullying week, where we enjoyed lots of different activities. On Monday, we had Odd Sock day, where we came to school in odd socks and did a calming sock activity where you could either write words on socks or colour them. We also learned about Rosa Parks and the bus boycott. Mr O'Neill told us about her and how people like her were treated differently because of their skin. It was crazy to hear! On two afternoons during the week, we did some roleplay, where we acted out scenarios involving bullying and the various different parties involved: the ringleader, the target and the outsider (witness). It was fun and we learned lots" -Annapurna
